A Sony PXW-Z280 é uma filmadora XDCAM com sensor de 1/2″ que captura 4K em até 60p contando com três sensores Exmor R de 1/2″ que fornecem capacidade aprimorada em pouca luz quando comparado com sensores padrão. A câmera integra uma lente zoom ótico 17x e um filtro ND variável eletrônico. A câmera suporta codecs modernos, como XAVC, bem como codecs legados, como MPEG HD e DVCAM, permitindo que você use uma câmera para gravar vídeo 4K, HD ou SD.

A câmera suporta S-Log 3 para melhor desempenho e HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), que permite gravar e entregar imagens compatíveis com HDR (alta faixa dinâmica) e SDR (faixa dinâmica padrão) sem a necessidade de trabalho trabalhoso de pós-produção. Você pode gravar em 4K e HD simultaneamente ou produzir 4K 60p por meio da saída 12G-SDI integrada. A câmera possui Wi-Fi integrado de 2,4 e 5 GHz
